"Brandon, I understand your concern for your mom and stepdad. I have known them personally for over 24 years. They are wonderful people. But I believe your comments would be better directed elsewhere. Let me explain. As soon as I was made aware of the interior leak on your mom’s back porch, the very next day I was out and met with your mom & stepdad. State Farm had previously inspected and found 3 to 4 shingles that had wind damage and they had paid a minor amount for the repair. The real problem was that this back porch flat roof had been covered with asphalt shingles, not a rolled roofing membrane. When there was a heavy rain, the water had no place to go. Unfortunately, that is a workmanship problem and not damage from a storm. But I suggested, we could pay for their interior damage and if they wanted, they could use this monies toward the changing of the roof or interior whichever the prefer. I then took photos of the interior, downloaded them to State Farm and advised we would have a supplement estimate. Your mom was going to have a contractor (friend) write an interior estimate and also temporarily tarp/fix the roof, so no other leaks occur. I also then called her contractor and told him what we were trying to do. After this, I was in contact with your mom seven times to check in and inquire about the estimate. She wasn’t sure what was going on with her contractor. Your stepdad stopped in the office and advised they were getting a new contractor, and he would drop off an estimate as soon as he got one. On August 15th, we were presented an estimate. Our state farm adjuster happened to be in the area, and I asked him to stop by. He stopped by your mom's home that same day, documented the damages, and left them a check. I truly wish State Farm could pay for every roof or porch roof that is out there. But unfortunately, some roofs are not damaged, they are sometimes just old or in this case put on incorrectly. Regardless of this, I will continue to follow up with my clients in a timely matter, be transparent and help in any way I can. All My Best. "
